About Chord Design Studio

Architecture for projects that need a clear path from concept to completion.

Chord Design Studio is an architecture firm focused on high-quality, technically detailed work for clients who value design, precision, responsiveness, and strong project guidance.

We work with developers, property owners, business owners, contractors, and residential clients on projects that require more than a basic drawing set. Our work includes ground-up architecture, tenant improvement projects, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, food service spaces, boutique hotels, aviation properties, multifamily, commercial, industrial, and select residential work.

Some clients come to us with years of development and construction experience. Others are beginning a new project and need a thoughtful, technically disciplined architectural team that can explain the process, help them understand key decisions, and protect them from costly missteps. In either case, our role is to create a clear architectural path, ask the right questions early, coordinate the details carefully, and help the project move forward with confidence.

The name Chord comes from aviation. In aerodynamics, the chord is the imaginary straight line between the leading edge and trailing edge of an airplane wing. For Rob Forslund, our CEO and Managing Principal, aviation has been a lifelong influence. He grew up at the Tulsa airport watching planes with his father and brother, building model airplanes, spending time in hangars, and developing a lasting respect for the systems, discipline, and precision behind flight.

That idea became the foundation for Chord: the path of least resistance from concept to completion.

Under Rob’s leadership, we bring more than 25 years of architectural experience, structural understanding, construction knowledge, and disciplined project coordination to the way we approach our work. Our team is guided by the belief that strong architecture is not only about how a building looks, but how well it is coordinated, documented, permitted, constructed, and used.

Much of our work comes through referrals, repeat clients, and word of mouth. That trust is earned through careful listening, direct communication, technical follow-through, and a commitment to delivering work that reflects well on the client, the project team, and the built result.

At Chord, our goal is simple: create architecture that is thoughtful, buildable, and guided by a process clients can trust.
