A motivated entrepreneur had a vision for new dance studio in downtown Denver. She purchased a two story brick loft style space seeing past the existing offices for the beautiful space that could be created for dance. Kenney Architects helped this young woman navigate the necessary use change and subsequent code requirements while implementing a simple and efficient space plan.
501 West Hampden

A unique 1960’s building in Englewood, Colorado, 501 W Hampden was historically always a bank. Its thick concrete walls and massive concrete waffle slab roof awarded the building the affectionate name of “the bunker” by the design and construction team. And though solid, this building also proved to be challenging to update for new modern retail uses. Kenney Architects recommended showcasing the unique mass by highlighting it with new white marbled porcelain tile and new aluminum curtain wall with blue grey glass. Additionally, we created a new dining patio along the south façade highlighted by historic style lighting, complimenting the character of the incoming Corner Bakery.
First Bank Conversion
Swinerton Builders Regional HQ

Kenney Architects was retained by Swinerton Builders as their Design-Build partner for their new 20,000 square foot Regional Headquarters in Colorado. The new multi-tenant professional office building is an architectural pre-cast and curtain wall structure on 1.6 acres.
First Bank Jordan

First Bank regularly assesses and remodels their branch locations about every ten to fifteen years. The 4,200 SF Jordan branch was due and Kenney Architects was awarded the project in the late summer of 2012. The project was primarily an interior design exercise including new finishes throughout the lobby, rest rooms, workroom, and breakroom. Additionally the teller counters and hoods were replaced, new teller lighting was added, and new back teller millwork was installed.
Kenney Architects also helped in coordinating a full furniture replacement, including upholstery selection and procurement of new art work throughout the branch.

In 2004 Strategic Financial Partners wanted a contemporary and sophisticated office to compliment the young and upscale demographic of their fastest growing client group. The crisp detailing and quality materials convey a contemporary, comfortable vibe, avoiding the intimidating, over opulent atmosphere of more traditional investment advisors. A true testament to its design success, in 2012 a law firm, Fleishman and Shapiro, relocated to the space. They hired Kenney Architects to make only modest changes to better accommodate their program, being that they already loved the space.
Bank of the West Denver South

Like many others during the recession, Bank of the West was adjusting their space utilization to better accommodate both retail banking and private banking needs in facilities that they already owned. It was determined that the 5,560 square foot Denver South branch was oversized for its retail banking needs and could be demised to accommodate a separate commercial office component. The remaining retail bank got a new face-lift with an updated teller line & checkstand, a new work/break room, a new conference room, and new finishes and lighting throughout.
